Photoshop Competition Voting

Original image. Click to enlarge.

-Only two entries were submitted this week. If a similar number of entries is received next week, the competition will be scrapped due to lack of interest. Each thumbnail corresponds to a voting choice. They are assigned numbers in no particular order. Please vote for what you feel is the best image.

- The votes are public so it will be clear to the adjudicator whether someone has voted for their own image.

- I will leave this thread stickied for 48 hours, but unlocked. Feel free to to discuss the merits of this week's entries, and the competition in general. Just a reminder, no hinting or 'biggin' up' from the entrants.

This week's theme was "Film: The Day After Tomorrow"

I think the lack of interest is really just from the themes being difficult to do. How many were submitted for 'alien encounter?' Tons :D

I would always be open to suggestions via PM if anyone felt that the current system or pic/theme choices were un-doable. I've received none. The choice of the next week's image by the previous week's winner is the only 'prize' that can be offered, if you can call it a prize. Alien Encounter was chosen by me if I remember rightly, as Nini deferred.

I am sensitive to the fact that this is a busy time of year for people, but there is still plenty of activity on the rest of the forum. I can only assume submitting an entry week after week by the small amount of people who have the software/ability/desire to take part is too much of an effort.

I disagree with you...while there may be activity on other parts of the forum, writing a post only takes a minute, at most. However, taking the time to research the topic, thinking of ideas, and creating an entry of quality can be very time consuming. This week in particular is very hard for people to find the time to create an entry, seeing as a lot of people are on vacation, spending time with family, etc.

Also, the topic is a little unfair. I saw the movie the Day After Tomorrow once, and I wasn't really paying attention when I watched it. I think the topic should be something everyone can do, regardless of what movies, etc, that person has seen.

Anyway, give the contest at least two more weeks and see what happens.

As for entries... I like both, but I think I'm going to have to vote for number 2.

That's the reason I'm continuing the competition next week minimum, as I've said I appreciate this may well be a seasonal lull. Trying to fathom how much time people have had to take part is pretty speculative, I'll agree to disagree with you on that.

A choice of three topics were provided by apj101 via PM, and the topic I chose was I'm afraid the one I felt would be most known/easy to generate ideas. Although I am limited to what is provided me by the week's winner, I will always be prepared to have a more active role in choosing pic and theme if that week's winner asks.

I for one am very busy lately and don't have a lot of time to do photoshop.. I'm in for next week...

#1 gets mine

I just think a little more time in between contests would be good, maybe 2 weeks or so, 'cause I would definitely be entering if that was the case.

My vote is for #1

Well then maybe you should set some guildelines for topics, so that we don't have this "problem" again...

I voted 1 because I really liked the "monochrome" effect, then I noticed Big Ben in the water, but only after I'd looked at the picture 4 or 5 times.
