Oh crap, restoring files from formatted drive?

Right, I installed a secondary HD for documents. After I installed it I moved all computer documents, many of which are extremely important.
Earlier on today I tried to install a new CD-RW but failed on doing so and somehow managed to reformat my secondary HD into FAT32. I was unsure what i'd done so I tried copying a file onto the secondary HD (which I thought was the CD-RW), I then rebooted to find all my data on my secondary HD was gone, but the file I copied. I then deleted the file.

It's vital I rescue those documents, please could someone help?
Much appreciated,

Liam :)

Oh, man. If you've reformatted, no matter to which file system, the files just may be gone. Reformatting clears the drive of data. :( I think you just may be SOL, sir, unless someone with more knowledge of this speaks up, or you have backups of your data on CD or DVD-ROM/RW.

There are ways of recovering it, but i am not sure.

You can try GetMyDataBack, its a program that can recover files that have been deleted, or files that were on a drive and then were formatted. It's not guaranteed to work, but unfortunetly in order to recover the files you need to buy the program.

I have used that many times with great results....But if you have overwritten the data you are screwed!!! I use the full app. not the trial.
