try taking the memory out and putting it back in. if not do so with the video card. if that doesnt help repeat. sometimes something gets shoved in wrong, or with a single pin not connected perfectly...
another thing would nbe the cpu, take it out and reapply the heatsink with thermal compound and such... make sure its in securely this time though... and remember not to touch the top of the cpu or the bottom of the heatsink.

I'm pretty sure he didn't buy it yet.

You can find out what is supported on the manufacturers web site. For AMD you are generally safe if you buy a CPU of the same socket type (at worst you need a BIOS update).

my mobo is this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813186086

and my processor is this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103529

someone told me thta my mobo can only handle 3800 an dmy processor is a 4000

would this effect my computer not liek giving me any video at all or basicaly anything?

and how do i figure out how much my mobo can handle so i can get one that works with this processor?

thank you
That will work together just fine. Are you having a problem with it or something?

Maybe they haven't updated their site in awhile? Maybe a call would be good...or an email.

hmm.. kinda hard updating a bios when the CPU isnt compartible yet, dont you think? :p

tbh, im pretty sure the motherboard supports the CPU just fine, its like one of the slower CPU's ( same core/build) jsut a higher clock.

There differences, try overclocking a 3000 as high as a 4000 will overclock, there not just the same with higher Xs Why do you think they have a supported CPU list instead of just sayin a Athlon 64, Plus the 4000 is a clawhammer core with 1mb L2

already did that ;) and yes, you have a point there. still im certain the CPU will work on that mainboard

Well its not, theres no bios update for the 4000! And yea it should work with the board, but Foxconn is really slow on bios updates, look how long the 4000 has been out and yet no update

Actually it's fairly easy, most any shop will do it for you or you find someone who has a small stockpile of CPUs (yes I know a couple people who do :p) and use one to do the flash.

In any event it is a moot point, a 4000+ will work on that board. If you want proof, Hexus had it running: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=3635&page=5

And that is mute if theres no bios update, unless you know of a way to turn a bios update of smart fan performance update into a cpu compatability update?
