Ok Final Specs

You will be much happier with 4gb of RAM over 2gb; although 2gb will get the job done, 4gb will ensure that everything runs smoothly and will not create a bottleneck in your system.
While I agree that i can find things where 2GB wont do, 99% of users dont run into those scenarios very often .... which would hardly qualify stating that 2GB would be a bottleneck. (that and, if 2Gb is a bottleneck you're probably bottlenecked elsewhere more so like say, harddrive)

Also, for an optical drive, this one will do you just fine.
The NEC 7170 has a better speed-P1 error rate :) and costs less
