ok guys, HELP! my computer is buggered

ok i wanted to change my cd/dvd drive to a cd/rw drive... so i took it out and put the new one in... i put it all ack together and started it up... when i booted the computer it came up with this error:

A disk read error occurred
Press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart

so then i switched back to my old drive and i got the same errror?!?!?!?

how can this be??? it was working fine 2 minutes beofre

i reallly need any of your help to solve this for me!!

hmm i spoke to someone and i ran through all the start up devices and i think some static got into my hard drive and buggered it.... but luckily i have a laptop! anyway problem solved.. kinda :(:(
 
Make sure the cables and power connectors and tight and snug. I have most likely touched more computer components than you with my bare hands without discharging and NEVER shorted an item.
