So the only problem is I dont no...intel or amd..ive heard lots of people in favour of intel...so im gonna leave it for a while...but the rest of these parts...do they all work w/ both mobo/cpus? cuz then all i have to decide down the road is which mobo and cpu i want....but ya r the rest of the things ok? thanks...and thanks a lot to everyone who read my posts and helped me out in the past day and a half...thank you!!! also the pricing of it..

You have to decide now which company you want, Intel or AMD, I would go for Intel because the Core 2 Duo uses less power and performs better. AMD and Intel CPUs use different sockets so down the road if you want an AMD instead of an intel or vice versa, you will have to swap out your motherboard as well as your CPU.
 
ya thats wht i was worried about...right now im leaning towards intel...but im just friad about down the road stuff...like will this intel allow me to use programs that r realeased say 3 -5 years down the road? but yes intel might b wht i get now for example the ds3 doesnt have sli is that gonna b important?

o right.....8-) does that have sli support? or is sli even that important say down the road?
i guess my main concern is....does the ds3 and c2d work w/ the geforce 8800 gts

those parts will work with the 8800gts fine as long as your motherboard has pci express x16 slot and make sure your power supply can handle one sli right now wont do much the gigabyte motherboard wont support it but as others will tell you it wont help much if you do want to go amd I have the k9n diamond one step above the platinum and msi's boards are great
 
SLI is when you set up 2 graphics cards in 1 PC in order to give you better performance when using graphic intensive apps like games or movie editing.
