Ok to swap a dvd drive out while computer is on?

Just like name says. I need to swap out a dvd drive, is it ok to do while computer is on?

No. The 4pin may short... And you might mess up something

Unless it's a hot swappable SATA DVD drive.

you can buy hot swap drive bays, and external devices like firewire and USB can be hot swapped no problem.
