old but new card..no video

i got a donor card from the tech teacher at school and i wanted to test it before i tried to put a really old system back together.. it is agp and it fit in the slot just fine but when it comes to hooking up the video there is nothing.. i tried having it unplugged and using the onboard video and searching for new hardware but it says there is nothing...
any help?

So the machine works fine when you remove the card and use onboard? Are you sure the card's good? And what card is it? What kind of system are you sticking it in(specs)?

yup the video is fine...except for games haha
umm im thinking its an AGP diamond savage4 pro 8 mb
as far as i know it is good i dont think the teacher would ahve it if it wasnt
