Old Computer;Tips please

Ok my friend is moving to another house in the area, but they have alot of stuff that they are throwing out and giving away. Since he knows I like to try to fix older computers and stuff like that, he gave me one of his first ones he had.

Its a Compaq Presario it Has Window XP on it, although when first bought it had Windows 1998.

Right now it has a AMD-K6 3D Processor 532MHZ. I know that is extremely slow and crappy.

What do you recommend? Buying a new processor or Buying a new Mother Board along with Processor? Will the motherboards fit in this old computer?
 
TBH thers not a whole host that can be done if the computer is around that age, i still have my amd k6 400 working but its not worth upgrading.


you could up the chip, but not by much, it would still be slow.

hopefully its an atx case, if so you can change the mobo and processor but chances are you will also need to change the gfx card, and then add more memory or change it...end result is a complete upgrade.
