Hi,

I am wondering if you guys could help me out a bit, my old computer when turned on stays on for a bit then makes a tick sound and restarts the computer and it just keeps on doing that and refuses to boot. It doesnt even post on the monitor.

here are the specs:
core 2 quad
8gb ddr2 800mhz
ati 4350

if you guys can help then thanks :)

start with the easiest things to eliminate there alot of memory there, try removing all memory then try them one stick at a time.

As stated above, take every component of the computer out, except for the power supply, one stick of RAM, and the processor, of course. The graphics card will need to be taken out, as well, if you have integrated graphics. Then, replace each component until the computer refuses to boot again.

KK i did that and all the dims were working but when put all in at once it just refused to boot so I'm settling at 4gb, which is more than enough considering that this will now become my mums computer and she barely knows how to use a computer so thanks for the help:)
