I have an older computer Its an ATX Case Everything runs well, But It has a PII Prosseser in it the old bulky thing, I was wodering would I be able to upgrade it to a P4 or at least OverClock It, And how do I overclock it if a can, Or Can I just put a newer motherboard in it

unfortunatly, no, no P4 will work in a Slot 1 processor bay, even with an adapter.... the FSB on thoes are 66/100/133, sence its a P2, id guess its a 100MHz FSB.... if your looking for a better processor, i can sell you a P3 600MHz, and if its a dell/compaq/hp/sony/gateway/NEC/or basically any OEM computer, then you cant overclock

well its a p2 at 400mhz, it was a cutom computer from back in the day but what about putting a newer motherboard in it

yeah, anything will fit... but if its an aftermarket mobo, and not an OEM one, flash the BIOS and it should be able to overclock

That's not for the P2 is it? I wouldn't spend anywhere near that sort of money on the P2, that's a reasonable percentage of the cost of a new, basic, system, which will give much, much, better performance.

dude just get an AMD athlon 64 3200+ with a simple 939 or 754 mobo.
proc = $150-160
mobo = ^$50
ram = $30-$200 (depends on size and speed, 512mb = about $50-60)

Agreed. If the budget really is a problem, Celeron Ds start from $56 at newegg
