Ok, My old hard drive took a shit on me on my work computer which sucks but whatever. I bought the same hard drive that came with the machine and installed it (Western Digital Caviar 320GB). I have the recovery disk that came with the computer and I tried to start a set up once I got power to everything. Once it comes up it asks for the drivers. (I read online that its for the motherboard). I download those to a flash drive, and get it to the machine and it says it can no locate any drivers even though they are on there. I don't know whats going on. And this sucks. I also bought Windows 7 today, can I use that instead of the vista they are wanting me to use on the recovery and what the computer came with?

The computer is, ( Don't laugh, it's just a work computer) an:

Emachines
Model #: T5274

I am not computer savvy, so Im sorry if this sounds like a retarded question. I know my way around programs, but not when it comes to this mess....lol....

Thanks for any and all help!

Paul

Where did you download these drivers from? If you got them from emachines then they should be self extracting when you click on the setup file for each device.
