I have an old HP pavillion that won't boot up on the first attempt. It usually takes about 3 or 4 attempts to boot up. Any ideas as to what the issues is?
Any free software I can run to check? I have never cleaned the inside and the desktop has been moved around o that might be the case. However I just want it to boot up on the first try other then that the computer works fine.

Help!

Test the voltage of the battery or replace it. They cost about $2.50
Most batteries are in a socket. You should be able to spot it real easy on the mother board.

Personally id backup all my files i want saved, then i would restore it back to factory settings by either using the restore disks or by tapping the F10 button on start up
