Old Monitor with New Computer

I just had bought this computer,haven't even opened it yet. ;

And now I see this one ;

If I buy the second one,can I use my old monitor?
It's an HP from somewhere around 2003-2004.
This monitor seems to be doing just fine so far and if it konks out,I then could buy a new monitor.

Or should I keep the combo?

Yeah course you can mate. The monitor VGA? (blue plug with many holes)

Will be fine - the new computer says " 1 VGA 15-pin D-sub "

So go for it!
