Old OEM acer motherboard compatibility?

Currently have a 'Acer FMCP7AM' motherboard which is a few years old, and I'm looking to get a new graphics card as well as possibly a new CPU and possibly processor.

I honestly don't know what kind of graphics card would be compatible, as a search for the acer documentation for the product didn't find much, and honestly I know little about the subject.

Could anyone help me out? I have a GT 120 at the moment and it's rather bad.

Thanks.

I can't find specs on it, but I imagine you could stick a fairly recent PCI-Express card in there. You'll need to get a new PSU as well.

And FYI, a CPU is the processor (Central Processing Unit)

That's what I was thinking - my PSU is definitely a cheap low quality one which wouldn't keep up.

And what's this about the 'single' or 'double' slot cards? I was looking and most recent decent ones appear to be double slot; is that something that is governed by the motherboard, or is it simply by the case size or something completely different?
Thanks mate:)

The second slot is usually just an exhaust port that requires a free slot on the case.

Alright thanks man you've been extremely helpful!
I'll have a look inside it later; presents to wrap!

Merry christmas for tomorrow.
