I have an old 533w HP machine that my Grand kids play on, when they visit and I want to update it. It was made in 2002 with an Asus P4G533-LA mobo and a Celeron 2000 Mhz CPU. Can you guys help me choose something cheap to replace these to get this thing to stepping a little faster Thanx in advance for any help. try to keep it under $100 plz:P

Oh right, You could probably buy another MOBO and just upgrade the RAM? A 2GHZ CPU isn't bad for general use :P

I can't see it being a huge improvement but it may make a difference.

I have an Athlon XP 2400 @ 2.00GHZ and 1GB of RAM and it runs FEAR on high with-out any problems... What do your grand children do on the computer?

The G'kids are coming for easter and I want this humming then hehe:)

Yeah sure...

I'm from the UK so I can only show you pages from the UK stores but I'm sure you could look up the names on some US stores...

There's an ASRock board, that'll take 2GB of RAM, has a Socket 478 and an AGP slot.

I know AGP isn't great but I think you'd be hard pushed to find a socket 478 with a PCI-e slot. I may be wrong though.

Let me know if you decide or find anything about those two MOBO's :D

Cool, Does she like it?
Have you ever been? :)

No never been across the Atlantic all my time was spent on the Pacific and she now lives in Seattle Wa.

I ordered the Asroc from new egg and a new Cerleron 2.6 Thanx for your help
Oh and 2 sticks of Crucial Ram (2 g's)
