So a few months ago I built my first PC and really got interested into computers. I had an old computer lying around that I used my whole childhood so I wanted to clean it out, and turn it on to see if it still works good enough just to browse the internet or something. I took all the components out and cleaned then since they were really dusty. I cleaned the thermal paste too and put some new on. I put everything back in the PC as it was and I tried to turn it on but when I did nothing was working and I noticed a burned smell but didn't know where it was coming from. Could it be that my power supply died?

You would need to figure out where the burning smell is coming from and go from there.
