old problem... new solution?

i have a laptop that had beer spilt on it awhile ago. worked fine for about a month, minor start up issues. so i bought a pc and put the old guy away. i broke it out the other day to see if it worked and needless to say, it didnt. i hit the power button and i heard the fan come on and saw the power button light up but the computer did nothing. no response what so ever. so ive tried this a couple of times and nothing has happened. could this simply be a power issue, because i was pricing parts for a new dc power outlet for the laptop and it was only 30 bucks... or do those of you who are more knowledgable in these matters think its something else? any help is greatly appreciated

it seems like the motherboard. i think it is trash now. one thing you can do is take it apart and sell as much as you can. not the motherboard. but i took mine apart and got 200$ of everything.
