Old Technology/Good Price?

Pentium 4 computer tower
1.8 GHZ Pentium 4 processor
20 G hard drive
130 Mb of RAM
View Sonic 17” CRT Monitor
Windows 2000 Professional

All in working order.

I know the technology is outdating, but I pretty much want to use it as a base for a light personal server and I'll probably test some Linux OS's on it.

The guy is asking 80 dollars for all of it.

80? Of course. That's a whole system for just 80 bucks. You get a monitor too. :) I still use CRT. All the other things are upgradable so it's good in my opinions.

Hmm.. good deal, might wanna drop in a 512 stick of whatever ram it uses. Maybe another Hard Drive wouldn't do much harm also!

Well, I got it last night and the computer looks like it has been barley used. Very, Very, Clean! I transferred everything into a new case, so I can add in another CD-R and a storage HD. It must have been a custom built computer, because all the components are name brand for that time frame. (2000-2001?) I’m going to look up the mobo (ASUS) to see how much ram it will take it has three slots, so I’m thinking 1.5 gb. I’m also going to up the graphics card and audio. It will give me something to do for the next couple of days.

Yeah, sounds like a good deal, and it probably will only handle 1.5 Gb on the board. You should be able to find the model of the board printed on it somewhere then Google it to see if you can find any specs for it...
