Old Thinkpad Laptop Problem

I have a Old IMB thinkpad 560X i got it of ebay i looked under it it says 16 Volts so i got a universal laptop AC adapter i plugged it in set it to 16 Volts i heard a ZAP and Smoke came out the back and then ibm told me it was the system board/ Mother board i baught another system board from ebay and it also burned out and then i whent to www.hammerheadtech.com and baught another system board and it also burned out i wanna know why it burned out Thanks!

If you keep using the same voltage, you are going to burn out one board after another. You need a smaller amount of voltage I guess.
