older game, can't max settings

Hi there, I know this might be a silly question, but I'm wondering why I can't max the settings on GTA 4 when I have an Nvidia 650 TI graphics card. Thanks
 
Are you experiencing lag or something when you max it out? You're not giving much detail.
 
Sorry. When I turn the settings all the way it starts lagging. Especially when I turn up antiailising. I have it at 4x and the graphics at high. If I turn them to very high it starts lagging, even with antiailising at 2x.
 
GTA 4 is a bad example as it runs with slowdowns on pretty much any system, especially at higher settings.

Also keep in mind a 650 Ti isn't spectacularly amazing enough to play everything at max settings with high AA.
 
Yeah my system will drop that game into the 20's for FPS and still not even be maxed out. And a 7970 is a lot stronger than a 650 TI.
