Hi all,

i just reformatted my machine so i needed to install my graphics card drivers.

so i decided to give those OMEGA drivers a go as i hear they can improve the performance more than normal ATI drivers.

But during the install of the latest drivers i get these options to choose from and i dont know what to choose for best performance:cool:

heres the options

what should i choose from those?
should i enable fastwrites?

You are better off trying the normal Omega driver since the 9600 chip wasn't on the 9500 but found on the Radeon 9550 model cards. The 9800 was a newer chip seen there.

The only time you disable fastwrites is when seeing game system locks while gaming if the card/drivers are seeing problems. That's not the same as combined writing which is often disabled and is often known for seeing better performance in games.

Omega drivers dont really increase performance, they just let you tweak the drivers alot more then ATI's, which can be a cool feature.

They probably work better with the ATI tool then the usual catalyst drivers for ocing. Adding 1gb more for a 1gb system, faster cpu, and faster core clock on a newer or different card will go further for boosting overall performance.

they have,Ive noticed my frame rates are higher now :D

also i can overclock it via the Omega drivers but im not gonna because i cant monitor the GPU temps

That model card was never a good ocer anyways. When running the ATI 9550 model you couldn't get anywhere with the ATI tool with either ATI or Omega drivers. That also had the 9600 chip. So I went back to the ATI Catalyst 5.11 for the best stock gaming results.
