Hey People, I have a simple question for you guys.

My new computer, with a DS3 motherboard, not even two months old has been sent for a motherboard replacement.

The heatsink on the south bridge popped off and i didn't notice this after i smelled the smokey stench.

I immediately turned off the computer and noticed the problem.

My question is whether or not the damage to the southbridge will affect my other components.

Thanks

yea, i let it run for like 2 hours..............
the technician i talked to there said "nothing will be affected" and the only thing that will happen is that the sata ports & usb ports will not be working properly if the southbridge is damage....

i need to confirm if hes telling the truth

THANKS

EDIT: NE1 Have ANY MORE IDEAS??
