On board sound

My rig is in my sig. Latley I get all kinds of static and noise in my speakers through my on-board sound card. I don't get this noise if I use a gamming headset hooked up through USB. Anyone know what it may be or if I'm better off just buying a PCi sound card?

It could quite possibly be your speakers, have you tried a second set?

Yes, I've plugged in a pair of headphones in the same 1/8" speaker out jack.

Make sure everything is plugged in securely or pick up a sound card. You can get a decent sound card for $20.

id say get a pci sound card get the creative soundblaster audigy 4
