Onboard GPU not running at full speeds

So I have an ASRock 880GHX/USB3 mobo that has HD4250 graphics onboard. The stock core clock is 566MHz and the stock memory clock is 667MHz.

I can get the Core up to its advertised speed in BIOS but the memory is at 397MHz. Can anyone give me an idea why its not running at full speed?

Also, This Chipset allows you to share up to 512Mb of your system memory with it. I currently have 8gb of DDR3 1333 and am sharing 512Mb with it. But in GPU-Z it says its DDR2 memory.

Anyone with helpful advice is greatly appreciated :)

Does it not go up to full speeds when you launch a 3rd party application? Its probably just keeping itself downclocked when it's not in use. The reason it's saying DDR2 though is because the dedicated memory on the card is DDR2, not because the shared memory is. Shared memory does very little to improve performance, and in some cases even hurts it.

The BIOS!! I've seen on a few motherboards, the option to set the onboard graphics to like, reserved, full power, something, etc. Just look under the video section in the BIOS and see if there is any related option.

I never would have guessed that Troncoso. I don't exactly have much experience using integrated chipsets, and when I do use them, I don't exactly try and game with them so I wouldn't notice even if it was running at half speed :P
