one last problem.

ok everything is working and the screen is not going black or anything, (except in one scenario)
i have the HD 6900 drivers installed and they are working fine, the computer recognises the card. BUT
i have installed


Hellgate london
Minecraft
WoW
Battlefield 2
Bioshock 2

And none of these games will load, they begin loading and before anything comes up on the screen they screen goes black and stays there until i control alt delete out of it,

when i get to the task manager it says the program is responding.
and most of the time through the black screen i can hear everything perfectly.

also i get a little error come up in the bottom right hand of the screen saying that the "display driver AMD driver" failed but recovered succesfully.

any ideas anyone??

Are these drivers the most up to date possible? Did you install them over previously installed drivers?

Also make sure the card is seated properly and has proper power.

edit: I Just read your other threads, you installed two other drivers, correct? and then finally got the one specific to your card? If that is the case you should try rolling back your drivers and installing just the one proper driver.

i think my card is DoA i really do, it shouldnt take this long to get a GPU working. im going to get a refund and buy another one from best buy near my house, get it same day even though it will be a little more expensive.
 
It the video card was dead you wouldnt be able to get picture at all. Did you try disabling your onboard video?
 
no i have had it confirmed the video card was dead. it gave me picture but it couldnt run any direct x stuff. and if i tried to watch a dvd. or youtube for that matter. it would die. and it also wouldnt accept any drivers i tried. i tried 4 in the end (remembering to completely uninstall the old ones)
but its fixed now, they are giving me a refund (newegg) and i bought a new one
