I have a toshiba laptop. I also have a system which needs a new Processor/motherboard, so at the moment it is doing nothing but i thinking of getting it fixed. If so could i do it so the system uses the laptops monitor..rather than me buying a *new* monitor?

Thanks

Stuart

P.S: Also looking for a new graphics card. I have limit of £150, any good recomendations?

I am not sure if you can use the monitor of the laptop for the other system instead of buying a new monitor. Most people think of doing the reverse, working on an external monitor using the notebook so that they don't keep using the notebook monitor.

Why I am telling that the system you are going to fix won't work on the monitor of the notebook?? Because actually the socket you have at the back of your notebook is the graphics card socket and not the monitor socket. You can't connect the graphics card of your desktop to the graphics card of your laptop and have it work. I don't think will work.I don't even know if this would make any damages for the graphics cards or not, so you better don't try it before you make sure that it's won't harm any component.

Maybe guys over here might help a little.

I have various ports on the back of my Laptop, not really sure what they all do.lol

I know one is video-out port. and then there is two other ones which our shaped like a printer(serial port) but smaller.
