Online Failure

I have an HP with Windows XP Pro. It had some viruses and malware. It was cleaned, found 4 viruses and it works great. All programs work fine. The problem is when trying to go online (Cox Cable ), the address comes up on top, but when it tries to connect it says ,"Internet Explorer Cannot Display this Webpage". It is wireless and when checked it states it has an excellent connection to the wireless. I tried highjack this, but didn't find anything suspicious, when compared with a friends computer. Any insight into this problem would be much appreciated.

Since you were infected, you may need to run this to restore your internet access.

I tried the winsock xp and there was no change.

Try rebooting your modem and wireless router.

Online filure

The modem and router are working fine. My two laptops are getting on line no problem. Also the desktop that is having the problem shows it is connected to the router with an excellent signal. It is whatever connects to the site after it comes up on the top of the page, thats where it fails.

Then its possible that you aren't totally clean yet. Please follow the steps here and post both logs.

I have run both malwarebytes and Highjack this before posting this thread. I will run them again and post the logs ASAP.
