Ah, thanks g4m3of1337. I had not gotten through that article yet.
I took your post as meaning you had been to such a site already.
No problem.

Hmm. Has anyone seen a public release date?
Need to know when to sell my PC![]()
I really hope this works. It'd be cool. They said the fees would be on par with XBL.
I can't imagine having highest quality games for less than $5 a month but I love the thought.
Theyre claiming theyve been developing it for 7 years. Hopefully that wasnt a waste of 7 years ha.
It seems that it runs via a protocol from their servers to your screen via the plug in described in the videos. This seems cool and all, but what if your broadband isn't fast enough? And since it gets rid of a GPU, for lack of better terms, what if there is lag from their servers to your screen?
I guess 7 years in development would solve those problems, or at least address them. But it seems a little off seeing as it does run over the internet.

...at least the internet in its current state. I, too, wonder about control lag. Anything over 100ms is quite noticeable.

Did you watch the video or read the articles?
Did you watch the video I posted in response to the internet question?
im just saying that this seems to be a similar service as that sega tv, minus the sega saturn lol. i have a feeling not many people will take advantage to this kind of service. seems kind of iffy.
Ah, I didn't see that video! I don't know, I feel that if it was a solution to gaming in general that someone else would have been first before this "OnLive". And I mean the "new technology" they speak of would have to be amazing for it to work. I think it's something that won't take off, conceptually neat but not practical even with high speed internet. We will see I guess.
OK, if it was iffy, it wouldn't be getting this much attention.
And you keep referencing something that was pitched back in 2000, but technology hasn't changed since then..

Whether this passes or fails, they still came this far and is making this much noise. So either they'll iron out all the kinks, or someone else will pick the concept up and out do it.
Yeah, I am a fan of the whole cloud computing idea. I believe that cloud computing is something that will heavily be used in the future. I mean just imagine a company having super computers that can run the program they are selling. This would allow users to install the software on an old computer and run it flawlessly. In my opinion that is more stable than doing gaming on demand. It will be nice once we catch up with Japan on our internet speed (don't they have the fastest) then maybe we can enjoy all this!
None the less, thanks for clarifying this matter for me!
Because the US is super legit and nowhere else comes close![]()
Lol, I'd agree with that, but not since January 20th, 2009.![]()
is that a satyrical jab at obama by any chance?
Why yes, yes it is.
