Only showing background

Im having some problems with my other comp.

When i start it only the background appears. Not even the start menu shows up.

I would like to know is there anyway that i can fix it without bringing it to a store.

Any help will be appreciated

Your explorer.exe service is not loading properly, it might be malware.

Ctrl+Alt+Del and go to Task manager. Start a enw service called "explorer.exe" if it is not currently running. If it is, end it, and then start it again. Your desktop should appear within a moment at the longest.

What was the last thing you did to the machine b4 this problem occured?

the last thing i did was go on msn and had itunes on.

did u just install service pack 2 for xp???? cuz we all know that could be the problem
