lookin good there helmie, oh and BTW, if you put the URL to an image inside
tag then they get displayed in the posts properly.
Hope the mods dont mind me posting this, but here i go:helmie said:Geoff, you gota give us all a guide on how do do that mod, those are some great temps. Preator, remember that with air cooling you cant go cooler than the air temperature, so if its -1C outside his house and he has a direct feed of that freezing air, then surely it can be done?
ya i know what you mean, we have something like that for our dryer, but i just wanted to test it out to see if it would work. I think my parents would be a little upset if i drilled a big hole in my wallhelmie said:Damn, thats a sweet mod. Theres some sort thing you can put through a thin wall or door, which connects to the hose. It would save having the window open all the time.
All the same, that looks great!
EDIT: Heres the sorta thing i mean:

My room is -6C right now and at night -12C easily (crommy am i estimating night temps right?). Now unless you're ducting directly or have the computer running out of the chasis (as i do) then you're not getting those temps. Furthermore, that does not consitute as stock cooling. Period.Geoff, you gota give us all a guide on how do do that mod, those are some great temps. See http://www.computerforum.com/showpost.php?p=239029&postcount=18 about the "post-modified-cooling" as for "normal stock cooling idle temp of 20C", that's crap and you know it.Right now, its around 0C outside, and my cpu is ~9C, and my GPU is ~27C. Before i made this customized cooling system, my cpu idled ~20C, and my gpu idled ~38C.
That won't prove anytthing, its to easy to photoshop.MIK3daG33K said:Geoff if and i mean IF you are telling the truth send a screen shot of SpeedFan or take a picture of you BIOS.

Thanks, i know some people *coughpraetorcough* dont believe me, and they may give me some technical reason on why it cant be that low, but the fact is that it runs that cold, mainly because its sucking in -5C air, and all the other fans are blocked so the cold air doesnt mix with warm air as easily.MIK3daG33K said:Well i believed you anyway . . . lol, but it doesn't matter what you do they will say it was photoshopped, or give so excuse, but i would like to say congrats on a nice mod and nice temps whether your telling the truth or not.

1. You're a fool if by now you think that's why I challenge. You've made a misleading statement, intentionally so at that. To suggest that you're getting those temps with stock fan is a quick one way ticket to stupidity -- and no I'm not concerned about your stupidity (remember the "what's your FSB" thread?), I'm much more concerned about the casual reader who comes here and thinks that it's possible to get those temps running, as you so aptly put ... "stock cooling". In case im being too subtle (since in other threads, giant red letters dont seem to get through), "my main concern has nothing to do with the temperatures claimed but rather that you claim them to be with stock cooling which it most definitively is not"Thanks, i know some people *coughpraetorcough* dont believe me, and they may give me some technical reason on why it cant be that low, but the fact is that it runs that cold, mainly because its sucking in -5C air, and all the other fans are blocked so the cold air doesnt mix with warm air as easily.
Praetor #18 said:To his credit, ducting outdoor temps directly to the machine will allow for the temps as noted (which is what I do as well, keep the room at -10C where environmentally possible)
geoff5093 #22 said:I dont know what it is with you ant not believing that i can get my cpu temp down to 6C. Its -1C outside right now, and according to my BIOS and Speedfan, my CPU has a temp of around 5-10C idle.
