Open Cases

I work on my computer a good bit, and I get tired of removing the panel to work on it, so I have gotten to where I just leave it open all the time, while its running. Could this be harmful to the computer?
 
not unless something gets inside the case, I.E. somethihng falls into the case. it can short out components. but other than that i dont really see much else wrong with it, though there probably is.
 
I would think its a good idea to leave it on. Although it won't always be bad, it can lead to more heat and dust which aren't good things to have.
 
Air is suppose to circulate better and help prevent "hot spots" on the motherboard when it's closed up...or so I've heard. I don't know how well this holds true, but even so, it'll at least keep your computer clean.
 
I guess I will just be sure to dust it. All its sitting in right now is a frame. I'll have to use the little air blower thingy to keep it clean.
