Hey guys i have 2 Nvidia 7600 GS video cards. I was moving my computer and decided to clean it. I was just having a look around and i looked at my video cards an i notice that there is one white plug coming from each video card. My guess is that these wires go to the fan on the video card.? If not. What are they? and why aren't they plugged in?
Thanks
Jeff

Well if its like the 7600GT then its the fans...and they should be plugged in.
Are your fans working? I would assume so since SLI means you do some gaming. Which would be a BSOD wonderland if they were not working.

Gotta be honest with you the only wires I have ever seen belong to the fans never seen a card with extra wires that were not related to the fan.

Hmm...I have a program that tells me the temp of everything but i dont know what program it was and even know how to use it. My neighbor told me that one of the fans was not working because it was running at like 90 degrees.
I actually don't do any gaming in fact. Just don't have the money to buy games at the time.

90c should have caused PC crashes for any class 7 card I think...I know class 8 can get up to 100c. My 7600GT would artifact @ 65c and crash @ 66c.

Sounds like that is your issue..take your GPU out and hook the loose wires to the only place you can plug it in....see if it gets better.

Also you can use RivaTuner to see your GPU temps.
