Well Im sitting here trying my hardets to download bittorrent files but sadly my Router is more than slowing things. I can open a port for a faster download but then I dont realy see the point of having a Router. can someone please give me the pROS AND cONS OF OPENING UP A PORT?
pros: better speed, people can connect to you for faster downloads and what not
cons: its a open port
I personally use torrents all the time and i have my port forwarded which alows me to top the speed out on my line, but i havn't had any probs yet that i know about, no hacking attempts nadda
also your only opening 1 port out of what...60000?
you might wanna check into peerguardian if your using torrents and your kinda worried
