OpenOffice (newest edition)

I need someone to explain to me how to make superscripts in openoffice word.
I assume super scripts are the right word, you may think of them as exponents.

I need them where I am taking notes in chemistry and quite frankly 2s^2 is getting confusing for me.

I think that CTRL+SHIFT+P on selected text will give you superscript

ctrl+shift+p does nothing.

hsetima had it right. You have to have the text that you want in the super script highlighted. Then you hit Crtl Shift P.
