OpenOffice powerpoint

I just installed on a laptop. Works nice except for one issue. Some of the Power Point presentations have sound. i can't figure out how to get sound. Went and installed on another computer. Same problem. Any ideas?

So you tried to put a sound file into the presentation and it didn't work, correct?

It should be as simple as going to "Insert", "Movie and Sound", opening a sound file and placing it in the slide. Not sure why it's not playing it.

What do you mean by "some"? Is it a hit or miss?

when i said some i meant some have sound. if you say it plays sound then maybe i have some corruption. i did a free powerpoint reader from microsoft and worked fine. i had microsoft office and worked fine. i will uninstall and reinstall. i will report back. maybe just bad installation from the download.
