Opera DS

Does anyone have a Nintendo DS here.

If so, can you surf the web on it with the Opera DS browser? If of course, its available for it presently. Or is it not released yet?

Or, can you surf on the net at all with it's WiFi. Is it strictly just for gaming?

Thanks

I think the only thing close to that is only available in Japan...for now. I have no idea if something like that will be launched in NA.

It's confirmed... I just dont know if it has been released or anything or if anyone has it already.

bump, update on this.

Well, I finally got my hand on this. It's now officially the "Nintedo Ds (Lite) Browser" and it is readily availabe in Japan only now. I imported mines and received it a day ago. For starters, it works very well and I am online and surfing in like a minute. It was practically just plug and go.

If anyone is interested and would like some info, reply here.

I hadn't realized how good the DS is... I was watching someone playing the other day and it looked like an n64 on your fingers!

It's pretty fast. It's wifi through routers (dsl, cable, etc..) so most of the pages load pretty quickly. The pictures just might tend to take a little longer (not dialup like, but oh.. a minute or so longer).

Well, my own wifi connection myself isn't that great so i really dont know how to compare.. but if you guys ever been around or use a sidekick to browse online.. I can say the page loads pretty quickly, but the images.. probably 2-3 times faster than a sidekick.

Also, you utilize both of the screens. You can view on the bottom screen the whole entire page, than the top can be used to zoom in on the page, or it can be set up to view the whole page on both screens simulatanously, and such.. It's touch screen based and so much easier to use if you ever used like a sidekick or psp.

Yeah the DS is good. I dont want to start a DS and PSP war, so I'll just leave it at that.

EDIT: I'll post a video if interested, there are also readily available videos of it in action if you search youtube also.

how does it work exactly? do you need a cartridge to run the browser? or is it some (software/hardware) installation thing? thanks.
