My ACER (all-in-one computer) stop working, when I boot, it has a black screen and one line message onthe top says 'Operating system not found', since I created a set of recovery disks right after I bought the ACER, I try to use them, but they did not work (get to the point to choose either to recover the system and data or just the system without data, it stops, won't go further). not sure if my HDD is still good, don't know how to check that. At this point, any help will be appreciated..

I can not even boot my PC, where am I going to download the file ??? (I am using my friends PC to get to this forum)

Download the utility on another computer and create a bootable cd if the utility has one.

hi. I did more investigation, I had a acer repair disc that I created after I bought the computer, I use that disc boot the system and ran the repair program, the repair program found the problem (MBR corrupted), and try to do a disc metadata repair, but failed with error code 0x45D, I look it up, it says I/O error on the unit. I am not sure which unit ?? Hard drive ? or SDD ? (My boot sequence is SDD first, HD second). SO, what's my option here, any help is appreciated..

Sounds like your SSD is fried. I/O error is generally a bad drive. But open it up and make sure the cable is securely attached first, as well as the power leads.

Out of town for a couple of weeks, I am back now. I opened up the unit, and found out I do not have SSD, not sure why the boot sequence shows SSD at the top. I disconnected the HDD cable, the repair program says 'HDD not found', connected the cable, it says 0x45D, that 'I/O error'. Looks like pretty easy to replace the HDD, but after that, how do I load the system onto it. I have ACER's recovery discs which I created right after I bought this computer, can I use it to recover the Window ? or I need to buy a new Window 7 or 8 installation disc ?? Thanks.

Changing the HDD wont matter. Just run your disks on it:D

Reporting back.. AFter the holiday, I purchased a new HDD, put it in, run the ACER recovery discs, it took about 30 minutes to completely restore to factory image, now my computer is up and running like new. I would like to thank all of you for the help. You folks are really great...
