operating system not found?!?!

Does the bios detect the hard drive? Can you access the drive if you put it in a different system as a slave drive?

Your hard drive is probably on its way out. Stick in the HDD manufacturer diagnostic and test the drive.

Be smart and BACKUP ALL YOUR IMPORTANT DATA FIRST!
DO NOT WAIT UNTIL HDD DIES.Believe me you don't want that lol.

After you have made a backup (PLEASE DO THAT) then feel free to play with the HDD and all tests as much as you want to...

Also load Linux Ubuntu and try to access the HDD.If you can access it and all your files and folders are there then try to repair MBR using the OS CD or DVD disk. That can fix your boot problems and remove the OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND message.

But PLEASE just backup ALL your important data before doing ANYTHING!

Cheers!

I have seen this issue before make sure you dont have any other bott devices before hdd and make sure you dont have any USB or disc inside your laptop. Other than that i would say it was your hard drive if that fails. :D good luck
