Operating System Restore possible?

Hi all, please bear with me...I have just above zero computer knowledge.

My situation is this:

I have a Dell Laptop with Windows XP. I also have an older Hewlett-Packard PC. Long story short, the hard drive on the HP needs to be wiped clean and have the operating system reinstalled.

My questions is this:

Can I use my Dell System Restore disk to install Windows XP onto the HP? I hope I gave you all the information you need.

No you will not be able to if it is a system restore disc. If it's actually an OEM copy of Windows and not restore disc then you can use it to install Windows on the HP with the COA on the HP computer assuming it is XP. You could not use it however to "upgrade" the HP to Windows XP if it did not already have Windows XP on it.
