I've used Linux for four years +, NEVER had a problem, it NEVER crashed. The
BIGGEST problem was....uh, I can't think of any.
Vista is on my secondary computer, and its days are numbered. As soon as I get back from this convention in Lexington, I will come back with a Fedora Core 8 dvd. Linux will slip from the DVD and kick Vista off the hard disk platters. It has crashed twice in three days.
XP is OK, but the best Windows OS is good old Windows 98. I still use 98.
However, 98 and (soon) XP is not to be sold anymore. The way MS's EULA is written, I would just stay on the safe side and not use multiple copies of XP or 98 (or any OS in between) and just don't use MS operating systems and make the move to Apple MacOS X or Linux. My advice: anything with UNIX in it or a UNIX clone (BSD, Solaris, MacOSX, Linux...) you will be taken care of. Anything else (MS WinVista) you are doomed.
If you are really persistent with sticking with windows, and that's ok, just hold on to your old PC for a couple months and wait until MS has all the bugs worked out.
Zune user: Zune is only engineered for MS software. It works with MacOS ONLY with Windows Media Player installed and in use because its microsoft software, as far as I have heard. Sell your Zune and get a cheap MP3 player
for under $100. By the way, most MP3s are disposable commodities with nonremovable batteries, so be careful what you buy.
