hey i have a prebuilt computer...and it has windows xp pro english on it...but its getting old...so i'm giving it to my mom...but she only reads chinese...and so i bought a windows xp pro chinese edition...and i installed it...but every time i boot the computer...it asks which version i want to boot...how do i get rid of the old english version??

Go to System Properties, Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery Settings, and change the default operating system and/or uncheck 'Time to display list of operating systems.'

no but my computer came with a partitioned space.../D AND /C but its from the same harddrive...i only formatted the /D cuz i thought the english version was on the /D. anyways...my english version is still there...is there anyway i can just delete the english version?

i deleted the d partition and installed the chinese version on the c partition which will write over the previous windows but will it delete all the drivers installed on it?

If you deleted D and installed on C then you will have unpartition space on the drive that used to be D. You needed to delete both partitions and create one partition on the full space of the drive

hey thanx guys for all your help
i finished installing it and deleting the other version but now i have one more question...i still have my old files?

If you have old files from your old install, then you did something wrong. The hard drive should be completly wiped and have nothing on it except the new install.
