Opinions on a gaming/multimedia build

Damn dude, I'm jealous! :) That's a great set up.

The only things I can recommend is to get a Zalman heat sink instead of the cooler master. They are the same price, but Zalman is known for heat sinks and cooling processors. Also, instead of getting Vista (since it will be gone pretty soon), download and burn the Windows 7 beta OS to a DVD for free and then buy the full version when it comes out. That will save you some money at least unless you're really into Vista.

Thanks for comments .From reviews I have seen the V8 is pretty much top cooling processor(for air that is)even exceeds the zalman models,As for OS I currently just use XP and want to go ahead and make the move to the 64 bit vista on a new HD.

Ah ok. I just trust Zalman because I haven't had any issues with them in any of my builds. It's all personal preference lol. As for the OS, you can get the Windows 7 64 bit beta for free as well. They have both versions out. You can certainly get Vista 64 bit, but it will become "obsolete" relatively soon here. Just a heads up! :) Again, awesome build dude!

Thanks for the help.I went ahead and ordered a couple hours ago before I saw your last post.I didnt know that vista 64 was obsolete.I thought that with the sp1 pack they fixed most of the problems :o.

I did swap out the P6T board after reading some reviews about the 2V that is coming out .I decided to get the P6t6 revolution board due to the great reviews it got .I doubt I would really ever want to try out 2 Gtx 295's though too much cost to performance increase.

I also swapped out the seagate HD for the F1 samsung spinpoint due to daisymtc posting a link to the problems with the seagates right now that I wasnt even aware of.

As long as I dont get any DOA's it should be a build that last's me awhile hopefully.

Thx again guys.

I think you should go with the 285 instead. The 295's are not much better and with your board you could do 3 285's which beats out 2 295's.

looks an awesome setup ;)

i would however change your Internet Security, too ESET smart security AKA nod.

Its FAR better than KAS IS 2009,ive given my key away to my friend.

No problem! Yea Vista is kind of on it's way out with the introduction of Windows 7. You can still use Vista with no issues (well...lol) and it will be supported for a while just like XP, but Windows 7 will be the new MS OS coming out fairly soon.

I think you made some great choices on all of your components and you should be able to keep that build for a long, long time. I really am jealous! lol!

Yep I didnt even know about the Windows 7 .I have been planning this build out for so many months now that tech advancement has passed my build specs.Of course I would be scared to get the new windows as soon as it comes out till they get some of the bugs out which it probably will have like all the OS's.LOL ,look at vista and how they even had to make the "mohave" commercials to counteract the negativity on that system
:D
