I want a Netbook for not over $220. I just want something that will enable me to just basically to read text files, look at pictures, do word processing and maybe listen to a little bit of music. I have several books in text format that I want to be able to load onto this. It's easier to carry around a Netbook rather than a load of books. I don't want to use this for the Internet at all.

I found the following refurbished for $220 including shipping costs at MWave.com:

ASUS EPC900B-BLU01X Netbook
Intel Celeron 900 MHz
Memory: 1 gigabyte of DDR2
16 GB Solid State Drive
Screen Size: 8.9 inch
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Expansion Ports: 3 x USB 2.0, 1 x RJ-45 (NIC)
Networking Type:
Integrated 10/100 Network Card
Integrated Wireless LAN
Dimensions
Weight: 5.5 lb.

Any opinions on the above Netbook?

don't get a celeron processor. they are terrible. other netbooks have better processors like the ones with nvidia's 1.8ghz atom processor

If you could find a 900HA or 900A that would be better. Both those have the atom 1.6ghz. Though the celeron really isn't all that much worse than the atom.

Okay, I found another refurbished Netbook priced at $256 with the following specifications:

HP Mini-Note 1135CA Netbook

1.60 gigahertz Intel Atom Processor N270
1 gigabyte of DDR2 (1 DIMM)
80 gigabyte (4200 RPM) Hard Drive
2 Universal Serial Bus 2.0 Ports
Windows XP Service Pack 3

The rest of the specifications are as follows:

Opinions on the HP Mini-Note 1135CA Netbook?

That HP is ugly, but it's decent. SSD's usually are faster, though some of the ones used in some of the netbooks were horribly slow (only the 16gb AFAIK)
