I will be building a new computer for gaming and multimedia.I was thinking of the Asus formula X48 Mb I just now noticed it raised in price to $300 :confused: .I am upgrading to a 1900 X 1200 monitor So I was thinking of the Hd 4870 X2 .I will probably get either the Q9550 or Q9650 proc.IDont really know if crossfire is needed if I go with the X2 and would also have to probably get a large PS (1KW) which I really dont want to do.Of course I know MB's are "you get what you pay for so it may pay to go ahead and spend the money for the Asus even if I dont plan on Crossfiring,PLus it will be there if I do need it. :rolleyes:
 
That motherboard will be fine then..... but now you say the price has gone up, what is your budget??? I might be able to find one.

I could probaby spend $2000 or so Due to being caught in a "failure to buy due to technology loop" and saving up for 6 months, lol.I would pay more if needed due to I want this build to last past a couple generations of Nehalem.This will be my first complete build so really wouldnt want to start of with a new technology that has not worked out the bugs yet
