Opinions?

i was planning on getting the Gigabyte 590SLI but i was thinking of trying to save a bit of cash for a 8800gts. I more than likely will not be going SLI anytime so would there be a major downfall to the 570sli chipsets? or are the 590's just better all around? Newegg has the EVGA 590sli board for 129.99 but on the XFX and Foxconn version the reviews are a bit sketchy...Opinions will help, Thanks.

Are you looking for an AMD 590? If you are looking for one for a Core 2 Duo the 680's are much, much better.

AMD, around or under $160...i was hoping to try for one for about $130 but i may just go with the gigabyte for $160 if its worth the price?

Yeah the Intel CPUs are much much better at the moment. Is there any reason as to why you are getting an AMD? Is it just blind loyalty? The Core 2 Duo CPUs use less power and performs better so it would be better in the long run.

What would you suggest for similar performance? AMD CPU $189 Mobo $130, i have just about $870 to get everything but the Case, PSU, and video card because i already have those. So an Intel sttup for around $870? Im not too familiar with intel but i do know they have the better dual cores right now...

Downfall=Price, Go for an S3 or DS3. No SLI, but still good OC'er and it has just as many options

if i go with an intel build, with everthing else i need since i have a video card i can use, the total comes to $800 even with an E6600 and gigabyte DS3. So that would stay within my budget and i could have a little left over to go toward a new video card later on

I would definitely go with an intel build. I just built my comp with an E6400 and it's a lot better than anything I've ever used. I actually just switched from an AMD too. I had my old AMD rig about a year and it was good, but then I changed to the c2d route and it outperformed like crazy. it's a good choice to go with Intel.

yeah, im ganna wait untill the intel price drop...i wont have the money by then anyway, im hoping i dont have to wait but about another week or so
