optical mouse issue.

I use a logitech optical w/ my dell inspiron 1545. I notice that for the last week the mouse pointer is slow or not moving at all.I changed battery. Still does the same thing. I have tried different pads, paper, rubber mats, cartons, whatever, still the same. If I turn over and, run my finger over the lens, works fine. Thanks for your help on this.
 
Make sure you are using decent batteries, if so try going to control panel, hardware and sound, under the devices and printers you will see mouse, click that and try adjusting the settings
 
I built a computer table several years ago 11 ft long. Used a Formica wood grain. I have a logitech also. I use Pledge and wipe the table and wipe the mouse and works fine.
Fixes my problem. I don't want no pad. Try a glass cleaner or what ever ya have.
