optimal cooling setup

heres my current setup... the rear 120mm moving air out of the case (obviously:P) , and the antec spotcool blowing air on my heatsinks. the purple bracket you see on the front is for another 120mm fan... which im going to go buy tomorrow. is it preferred to have one fan blowing into the case and another out, to create a windtunnel, or should i have the front fan blow air out of the case as well?

You want the front 120 bringing cooler air into the case to see temps lowered in general by the increase in air flow. WIth one old case here used for a Socket A board there was no place for a fan in front with one 80mm rear and another 80mm at the rear top of the case. When upgrading the board the temps were 48C idle for the board and 46C for the cpu. The board temp was actually the highest.

That old case went fast for the next one with a 140mm front and 120 rear to see the board drop to 31C and cpu to 33C fast enough! I also added two more 120s for intake on the side cover facing in and now left one facing out there for using one for the new build with the Antec 900 model case. That sees two 120s in the front! :D

i love love love the 900... it was a little out of my price range when i bought the case im using now, but believe me when i say that it was definitely my first choice :D

do you think the spotcool on the heatsinks is a little redundant? i was thinking it would help direct the cooler air from the front fan onto the CPU and out the back of the case, but now im not so sure... although it definitely couldnt hurt anything plus i like the blue LED :D

in or else you will create a vaccum , lol maybe that will bake static hahaha

create a wind tunnel deal

and remove some wire clutter to make a clean air path

The one thing you want to see with any cpu cooler is something that draw the heat off of the hsf so it does get blown out away from the cpu itself. You definitely want the front fan drawing in the cooler air that will see temps drop noticably.

In June someone pointed out a 4th of July sale at FRYS and I simply grabbed one for the new build then. Just lately newegg had an email flyer about them finally having a sale on the 900. It took them far longer then everyone else.

antec 900 is loud and guady, just get p180

Maybe for you! The one here I wouldn't even know was on compared to the last case where you plainly heard the fans speed up! This is about the quiest case I've had considering the four fans included and one I put on the side cover.
