optimized settings wont start computer up?

when i go to bios i try to make it optimized defaults and overclock my cpu. but after i save and exit the screen stays black. but when iload on failsafe defaults and dont do anything my computer runs fine. any ideas? :confused:

It could be that you overclock too much. How much FSB are you overclocking? You should do it step by step.

Check the mobo manual. A lot of motherboards 'optimized default' only work for a particular ram/cpu configuration. i.e you must have the right kind of CPU and correct RAM frequency. Otherwise, you can set to regular default settings and then go through your BIOS and set each option manually.
 
well about 2 weeks ago when it was working fine. i overclocked my cpu from 3.0 to 3.2 and it worked just fine. just up until this week ive been having this problem
