Optimum Online

Hey all, i am now using optimum online boost from regular optimum online
(16/3). The connection is rated 30mbps down, 5mbps up. But, im only getting 24 down, and 4 up. I tested it at speedtest.net

I am using a wired router.

maybe its my integrated ethernet?

optimumonline IS fiberoptic

how can i optimize my speed?

lol. try other test sites. like testmy.net or tey a different location. also try reseting the csu
 
it should be bandwidth insensitive so id be tempeted to blame the site. try a few others. It wont be your network interface, and i doubt its the 'modem'. If it persists try giving them a call, coz there are some capping solutions that may have been activated and optimum online are known for there capping irregularities

not a great help I know, but thats all i can think of.

It could be some settings in your computer that are slowing you down. A good site to test those settings is at www.dslreports.com click on tools and go to tweak test.

Don't worry, dslreports is not just for dsl connections. Thats just the name of the site.
 
well it could be your nic how old is it if its old it could be that but newwer ones have 10/100 and some even better but usless as of right now 10/100/1000
